Job Title: Accounts Payable Analyst
Location: San Rafael (Hybrid: 2 days onsite / 3 days remote)
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for supporting daily AP operations, managing account reconciliations, resolving invoice and supplier issues, and assisting with month-end close activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, improving AP workflows, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage AP account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across related accounts.
- Review and process complex AP transactions in accordance with company policies.
- Identify root causes of invoice and supplier issues; submit/track IT tickets and collaborate with internal teams to drive resolution.
- Serve as backup to the AP Mailbox Coordinator as needed.
- Support month-end close through clearing discrepancies and performing variance analysis.
- Investigate AP exceptions, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist the AP Manager in process improvements and accuracy enhancements.
- Develop and document best practices for AP reconciliation and workflow optimization.
- Complete special projects and tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (High School diploma required).
- 1–2 years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and internal control concepts.
- Proven ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve issues with effective communication.
- Experience with Oracle or SAP preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
