Junior Contract Attorney (Temporary)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Contract Attorney to support increased contract volume in a fast-paced corporate environment. This role focuses on contract review, risk identification, and managing internal approval workflows while partnering closely with legal and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in contract law, high technical aptitude, and experience working with contract lifecycle management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze commercial agreements including NDAs, vendor agreements, service contracts, and standard form contracts.
- Identify non-standard terms, risks, and deviations from established playbooks and policies.
- Manage internal contract approval workflows, ensuring timely review and sign-off by legal, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation within the contract management system.
- Generate reports to track contract volume, workflow status, and service levels.
- Serve as a legal escalation point for contract-related questions from paralegals and junior staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- 1–5 years of post-bar legal experience with exposure to contract drafting, review, or management.
- Strong understanding of common commercial terms and conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing or mentoring paralegals or junior attorneys.
- Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Coupa, or legal CLM tools).
- Prior experience in an in-house legal or corporate environment.
