Controller

Join a stable, well-established construction company seeking an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of a branch office. This is a highly visible leadership role partnering with branch leadership to oversee accounting operations, drive financial performance, and support project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead all branch accounting operations, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial projections with branch leadership
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and collections
• Manage construction project accounting, including job costing, budgets, change orders, time & material billing, and AIA billing
• Partner with Project Managers to analyze project financials, identify risks, and improve profitability
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Support ERP system initiatives and process improvements
• Lead, mentor, and develop the branch accounting and administrative team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Associate's considered with relevant experience)
• 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• 3 years of leadership or management experience
• Construction industry experience is required
• Strong background in AIA billing, project accounting & job costing, month-end close, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, payroll oversight, AP and AR.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Spectrum ERP or a similar construction ERP is a plus
