A well-established and growing real estate development, construction, and property management organization is seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will oversee the corporate accounting function, lead a team of accounting professionals, and play a key role in financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, and strategic financial operations.

Responsibilities
- Lead the corporate accounting department and oversee approximately five direct reports, including a Construction Controller
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury activities
- Oversee debt management, construction loan draws, and financing activities
- Review general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes
- Supervise tax filings, regulatory reporting, and annual audit/tax preparation
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial strategy and business initiatives
- Lead hiring, development, performance management, and mentoring of the accounting team
Qualifications
- CPA required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5 years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Public accounting experience is highly preferred (or a combination of public accounting and industry experience)
- Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Yardi is a plus
- Real estate or property management experience is beneficial but not required
- Construction industry experience is not required
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000-$200,000 base salary depending upon experience
