Accounts Payable Specialist
Fort Lauderdale, FL (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 Bonus
A growing construction organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team in Fort Lauderdale. This role will support high-volume invoice processing within a project-based construction environment and work closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure accuracy and timely payments.
Responsibilities
• Process high-volume invoices tied to specific jobs and cost codes
• Manage accounts payable for multiple vendors and subcontractors
• Maintain vendor relationships and respond to invoice inquiries
• Compare purchase orders, pricing, and terms for accuracy
• Reconcile vendor statements and aging reports
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of bills and payroll data
• Assist with account maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Support general accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
• 3 years of construction accounting experience
• Minimum 2 years focused in accounts payable
• Experience working with subcontractor invoices preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
• Procore experience required
• Sage 300 experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must be comfortable working onsite five days per week
