Position Summary:
Guardian Security Systems is looking for a motivated Certified Inspection Technician with specific focus on Sprinkler Systems to work in our Inspections, Fire Alarm, Security, Service and Confidence Testing Divisions in our Bellingham and Seattle office. Individuals that enjoy working with their hands and are computer literate with an attention to detail will be successful Inspections Technicians. The Inspection Technician will be responsible for testing on Fire and Sprinkler systems for life safety according to jurisdictional requirements and NFPA 72 and 25 standards.
Pay:
- $25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE

Work Setting:
- M-F, with rotating on call schedule
- Schedule may vary depending on appointment times
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspection & Testing- 35%
- Tests and services Fire Alarm Systems, Sprinkler Systems, Fire Extinguishers, and Backflow Systems
- Performs annual, semi-annual, and quarterly fire alarm and fire sprinkler inspections and testing.
Training & Development- 10%
- Works closely with more experienced technicians and takes direction.
- May collaborate closely with Technician Trainees to support their training and development.
Documentation & Reporting- 20%
- Completes documentation and forms, submitting daily to the administrative staff.
- Utilizes the Building Reports Platform correctly and to its fullest ability.
Customer Interaction- 20%
- Interacts with customers in a professional manner and provides clear communication on system status to building owners and property managers.
Availability & Scheduling- 10%
- Participates in the on-call schedule.
Additional Cross Department Projects- 5%:
- Support and contribute to special initiatives and collaborative projects across departments, as assigned by leadership

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- Driver’s license in good standing
- City of Seattle FEX card
- NICET 2 Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Certification
- Washington State Patrol ITT Certificate Holder
- Backflow Certification
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and no more than one minor traffic infraction on record in the last three years.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must have at least one year of related experience, fire or security industry preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing, walking, reaching, and bending for extended periods; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting up to 20 pounds; climbing ladders; and crawling through attics and crawl spaces as needed.
