Guardian Security was founded in 1976, and we have been serving Washington State with their life and property protection needs since then - for officially 50 years! We are locally owned and operated, with four offices located in Yakima, Tacoma, Bellingham, and in the SODO district of Seattle.
Position Summary:
Responsible for testing on Fire and Sprinkler systems for life safety according to jurisdictional requirements and NFPA standards.
Pay:
- $35.00 - $54.00
Work Setting:
- M-F, with a rotating on call schedule
- Schedule may vary depending on appointment times
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspection & Testing- 35%
- Leads inspections and directs others to their respective roles.
- Tests and inspects fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and backflow systems.
- Demonstrates problem solving in the field.
Reporting & Documentation- 20%
- Maintains and updates notes in CRM system to provide needed information for future work.
- Completes reports, submitting daily to the administrative staff.
- Utilizes the Building Reports Platform correctly and to its fullest ability.
Team Collaboration & Efficiency- 10%
- Maintains good working relationship with Inspections admin staff to help drive efficiencies.
Customer Interaction- 20%
- Interacts with customers in a professional manner and provides clear communication on system status to building owners and property managers.
Availability & Scheduling-10%
- Participates in the on-call schedule.
Additional Cross Department Projects- 5%:
- Support and contribute to special initiatives and collaborative projects across departments, as assigned by leadership

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- Driver’s license in good standing
- Seattle FEX
- Seattle FA-1 card
- Fire Alarm Systems NICET II Certification or equivalent
- Water Based Systems NICET II Certification
- WA State ITT Sprinkler competency card
- Backflow Testing (BAT)
- Hood Suppression
- Seattle Sc-1 card
- 06 Electrical License
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and no more than three minor traffic infractions on record in the last 3 years.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must have at least two years of related experience, fire or security industry preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing, walking, reaching, and bending for extended periods; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting up to 20 pounds; climbing ladders; and crawling through attics and crawl spaces as needed.
