FILER ELEMENTARY TITLE PARAPROFESSIONAL

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a part-time paraprofessional at Filer Elementary School. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and addressing the diverse needs of all learners. This position requires a collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, and a commitment to the academic and social development of elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and participation during activities.
• Assist with classroom management and support students in following school rules and expectations.
• Prepare instructional materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
• Support students during transitions between activities and throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and regulations.
• Availability to work part-time hours as scheduled, typically during school hours.
