Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities for preschool students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, facilitating their learning and development.
- Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions between activities.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Support children with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the teacher.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social skills and emotional well-being.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
- Must pass background checks and any other required screenings as per school district policies.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
