FILER ELEMENTARY PRE-SCHOOL PARAPROFESSIONAL

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Paraprofessional at Filer Elementary School. This full-time position involves supporting the educational and developmental needs of preschool children in a nurturing and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and staff to enhance the learning experience and promote the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of young learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities for preschool students.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, facilitating their learning and development.
• Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions between activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Support children with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the teacher.
• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social skills and emotional well-being.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
• Basic knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Must pass background checks and any other required screenings as per school district policies.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
