Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for all track and field events, ensuring athletes are well-prepared for competition.
- Organize and conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and team cohesion.
- Manage all aspects of the track program, including scheduling practices, meets, and team events.
- Collaborate with school administration, athletic department, and parents to promote the track program and communicate important information.
- Monitor the academic performance and personal development of student-athletes, ensuring they maintain a balance between athletics and academics.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on athletes' performance, helping them set and achieve personal and team goals.
- Recruit and mentor assistant coaches and volunteers to support the program effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and sportsmanship.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices in coaching and athlete development.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in track and field or a related sport at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of track and field events, techniques, and training methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and competition schedules.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Must pass a background check as required by the school district.
- A strong commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- A passion for youth sports and a desire to make a positive impact on student-athletes' lives.
Salary : $3,200 - $3,930
