MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING

SUMMARY
Filer Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic team as a Middle School Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position involves working with young athletes to develop their wrestling skills, promote teamwork, and foster a positive and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport and a commitment to the physical and emotional development of middle school students.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and conduct daily wrestling practices, ensuring a focus on skill development, conditioning, and sportsmanship.
• Develop and implement training programs that cater to varying skill levels and promote individual and team improvement.
• Organize and oversee participation in local wrestling meets and tournaments, including transportation and logistics.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and teamwork among all athletes.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding practice schedules, meet details, and athlete progress.
• Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants during practices and competitions, adhering to all school and athletic policies.
• Provide guidance and support to athletes in their academic and personal development, promoting a balanced approach to sports and education.
• Assist in the recruitment of new team members and encourage participation in the wrestling program.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a comprehensive athletic program at Filer Middle School.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in coaching wrestling or competing at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a diverse environment.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• Availability to attend all practices, meets, and team events throughout the wrestling season.
• A passion for mentoring young athletes and promoting a positive athletic experience.
