Chesapeake Search Partners is exclusively partnering with a growing organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on role focused on daily accounting operations, accurate financial reporting, and supporting both finance and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting activity including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Oversee month-end close and assist with preparing monthly financial statements
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure general ledger accuracy
- Review and reconcile cash activity, bank statements, and merchant deposits
- Support AP and AR as needed, including invoice review, payments, and cash application
- Ensure timely and accurate multi-state sales tax filings
- Partner with operations to resolve coding questions and reconcile unit-level transactions
- Assist with variance analysis, budgeting, and audit documentation
- Maintain internal controls, update procedures, and identify process improvements
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on accounting experience including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Strong knowledge of journal entries, sales tax, and cash/merchant reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large or complex datasets
- Ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance teams
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a steady flow of daily tasks
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
