The Credit and Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit department and managing the company’s credit policies and procedures to minimize financial risk while maximizing sales opportunities. This role involves evaluating the creditworthiness of customers, making credit decisions, and leading a team of credit analysts.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive credit policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee the credit evaluation process, including analyzing credit applications and financial statements to assess customer creditworthiness.
• Conduct regular reviews of existing credit accounts and recommend adjustments to credit limits as necessary.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the credit team, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
• Identify and assess potential credit risks within the customer portfolio and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and coordinate collections efforts for overdue accounts.
• Prepare and present regular reports on credit portfolio performance, including delinquency rates, credit exposures, and trends.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights into credit risk and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• 5-7 years of experience in credit management, finance, or a related role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in credit management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all credit-related analyses and reports.
• Extensive knowledge of credit evaluation processes, financial analysis, and risk assessment techniques.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
