Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a fast growing vital communications organization to hire a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is hands-on and multifaceted; as you’ll manage the full accounting cycle, including revenue recognition, accounts payable, payroll, expense reporting, and collaborate with external accounting partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, including deferred revenue, renewals, and contract modifications.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP); review invoices, ensure accurate coding, and manage timely payments.
- Assist with biweekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Evaluate and implement automation tools to enhance accounting workflows and reporting efficiency.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that improve financial visibility and scalability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, and SaaS business models
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems such as QuickBooks Online, Sage, or NetSuite
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
