Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Prevailing Wage Payroll Specialist to join our team in Orange, CA. This role is responsible for managing certified payroll reporting, ensuring compliance with California prevailing wage laws, and supporting payroll operations using Kronos and UKG systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, reporting requirements, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and audit payroll using Kronos, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Serve as the primary point of contact for Kronos-related payroll processes
Prepare documentation and manage special projects related to payroll systems
Submit contribution training funds and compliance reports
Handle certified payroll reporting entries on the DIR
Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to meet organizational expectations
Maintain confidentiality and make sound decisions independently
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of California Prevailing Wage experience
Experience with Certified Payroll Reporting on the DIR
Preferred experience with LCP Tracker, Elation, and EMARS
Familiarity with UKG and Kronos systems
Strong administrative skills; construction industry experience is a plus
Experience in midsize to large company environments
Skills Required:
Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
Flexibility with changes in systems, processes, and policies
Ability to work full-time and overtime as needed
Comfortable working independently and meeting strict deadlines
