Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with charge experience for a night shift assignment requiring a compact or VA RN license and 2 years of med-surg experience.
Details
- 3x12 or 4x12 shift, Nights 19:00-17:00
- Assignment length of 13 weeks
- Med/Surg unit setting
- Charge nurse responsibilities required
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring with emergency response capability required
- Floating required in rotation with staff based on clinical experience and unit policies
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
Requirements
- Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
- BSN not required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, feeding tube management, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
- Prior travel experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care
- Serve in a charge nurse capacity during scheduled shifts
- Work on a nicotine-free campus
- Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and scrub/lab coats are allowed
- Expect to work some holidays in rotation with staff as indicated in the assignment confirmation
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO during the first few weeks
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former Centra employees must be separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
