Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a 250-bed academic community hospital in Danville, VA, requiring at least 1 year of experience and AHA certifications.
Details
- Work on a 24-bed Med/Surg unit (Floor 5A) in an academic community hospital setting
- Patient population includes all age groups
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- EMR system: Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend or as needed
- 13-week contract
- Floating required as needed
- On-call required as needed
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Handling With Care (HWC), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — all must be AHA-issued and in hand prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- The facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, accredited by the American College of Cardiology and American College of Surgeons
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates may not be employed elsewhere full time
- Random drug screening consent and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
- Scrub color: any; casual wear is not permitted
