Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health assignment in Aroostook County, ME, requiring at least 1 year of PT experience and a valid ME or compact license.
Details
- Home health setting based out of a home health office in Presque Isle, ME, covering Aroostook County
- Daily travel of 50–100 miles expected to visit patients throughout the county
- Primary patient population is adults, with rare cases involving school-aged children
- Common diagnoses include post-orthopedic surgery, post-surgical recovery, fall risk, deconditioning, and mobility impairments
- Caseload of 20–25 patients per PT
- EMR: Netsmart
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility for four 10-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation required approximately once every 4–6 weeks (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call requirements
- 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of PT experience required; home health experience preferred but other PT backgrounds will be considered
- ME state license or compact license required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy required
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance required
- Experience treating post-surgical, fall risk, deconditioned, and mobility-impaired patients required
- Full SSN required for consideration
- 2 references within the past year required for consideration, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge nurse (peer references not accepted)
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered with the right experience
- Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME; candidates living 100 miles north will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity are not eligible
- Holiday coverage is expected; approximately 50% of major and minor holidays falling within the contract period
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and go through the manager for approval
- Support structure includes a scheduler, PT leads, and a team leader available by phone
- Orientation is 1–2 weeks
- Flu vaccination is required for clearance to start
- Business casual attire or solid-colored scrubs are acceptable
- Manager interviews are required
