Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health position in Aroostook County, ME, requiring at least one year of experience and a ME or compact license.
Details
- Home health position serving adults with occasional school-aged children
- Patient caseload is approximately 20-25 per physical therapist
- Common diagnoses include post-orthopedic surgeries, general post-surgery recovery, fall risks, deconditioning, and mobility issues
- Role covers Aroostook County with potential travel of 50-100 miles per day
- Schedules are variable, typically Monday through Friday from 0800-1700, with possible option for 4x10 hour shifts
- Weekend rotation required every 4-6 weeks, covering both Saturday and Sunday
- Expected to work 50% of major and minor holidays covered during contract period
- No on-call requirement
- Uses Netsmart EMR for documentation; experience preferred but not required
- 1-2 weeks of orientation provided upon start
Requirements
- Current ME state license or compact license required if applicable
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapist
- BLS certification required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy
- Valid driver’s license, reliable car, and auto insurance required
- Experience with post-op orthopedic, deconditioning, fall risk, and mobility patients preferred
- Flu vaccination required for start dates of September 30, 2024 and later unless a medical exemption is approved
- References from at least one supervisor, manager, or director within the past year required
- Must not have held a permanent position at any Northern Light Health hospital
- Perm address must be at least 100 miles south or southwest of Bangor, ME

- Main responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of home health patients with a variety of rehabilitation needs
- Support available from department schedulers, leads, and management via phone
- First-time travelers are eligible with relevant experience
- Business casual attire or any solid-colored scrubs are acceptable
