Position Summary:
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce precision components. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines for milling, turning, or grinding operations
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders
- Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs (G & M code) as needed
- Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools
- Maintain accurate documentation of setups, inspections, and production output
- Perform basic machine maintenance and keep workstations clean and organized
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement efforts
- Work with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned jobs
- 2 years of CNC machining experience required
- Strong understanding of G & M codes and CNC programming concepts
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Solid math skills, including geometry and trigonometry
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training/certification preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
