Who you are: The Facilities Operations Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day receipt, documentation and delivery of packages received at the distribution warehouse and zoo administrative buildings. The coordinator is also responsible for maintaining the warehouse and equipment stored within it in an organized manner, as well as on-site support for zoo signature and public events, including assembly, maintenance, placement, and storage of equipment.

The coordinator will also work closely with the Director of Events on load-in & load-out of all Zoo temporary exhibitions, as well as provide operations support with special events. The position will assist with the Facilities work order system (Asset Essentials) as well as providing support to other onsite daily operations teams such as Animal Collections, Education, Events, Admissions, Rides & Attractions and Safety/Security with various activities as needed to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. The coordinator will also assist with various tasks related to general zoo operations and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive, track, and log all non-retail related packages received by the zoo in its distribution warehouse or administrative buildings.
• Manage the timely delivery of all UPS, FEDEX, Amazon, Postal, and freight company packages received to all zoo departments, including those which require special handling.
• Receives, stores, and delivers products which support zoo events and internal strategic initiatives, sponsorships, and programs.
• Aids the Public Events team with breakdown/set up and support of signature events.
• Assist with daily checks on items with operational impact to the zoo.
• Responsible for maintaining and conducting bi-annual audit of zoo event inventory.
• Stores & delivers zoo-wide inventory of administrative supplies and support items.
• Ensure distribution warehouse and other buildings as assigned are maintained in an orderly and organized fashion.
• Assists with the Facilities work order software package as needed. Duties include assisting with entering/closing work orders as needed, building equipment & location databases and other data entry as needed, generating reports, and coordinating work order needs & priorities for other zoo departments.
• Assist the Facilities team managers as well as Safety and Security management team to ensure Facilities team members maintain and adhere to Zoo Atlanta safety policies and procedures. Assists with identifying potential safety issues on-site.
• Actively participates in zoo-wide organizations and professional organizations.

• Any other miscellaneous projects/assignment assigned by Zoo Atlanta’s Facility management team.
