Cardiac Management Solutions

The Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL Medical Corporation develops products to protect and manage cardiac patients, including the LifeVest® wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), the ZOLL cardiac monitor, and associated technologies.

Job purpose

Position is accountable for driving the global manufacturing and device service operations, strategies and tactics to meet or exceed the operating plan targets and profit objectives.

Manager, Therapy Electrodes

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage operations of ZOLL’s CMS division Pittsburgh-based manufacturing and device service organization, as well as global device service operations.
  • Responsible for leading an organization of over 450 people, including direct reports in production, service operations, supply chain, manufacturing engineering and shipping & logistics.
  • Maintain and further enhance lean manufacturing initiatives that ensure continuous improvement in all operations activities.
  • Work in cooperation with QA/RA leadership to ensure robust quality systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to product quality standards and drive initiatives to improve product and process quality.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices, while constantly seeking out new work processes, systems, and measurement and analysis tools that could be applied to the company’s operations.
  • Develop and manage the Operations budget.
  • Responsible for input and analysis regarding overall strategy and success of the business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required. An advanced degree in engineering or business is preferred.
  • 10 or more years of progressively responsible operations experience required, with at least 5 years at a senior management level preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacture of products that involve electro-mechanical assembly and test, such as instrumentation, computing hardware or medical equipment.
  • Must be a hands-on manager who can demonstrate a track record of success leading operations improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead from the front and lead by example.
  • Must have proven expertise in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Six Sigma Black Belts are preferred.
  • Must have experience managing global sourcing.
  • Outstanding management and leadership skills. Must be able to demonstrate past success building and managing high performance teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, including subordinates, peers on the senior leadership team, and board members.
  • Ability to quickly learn new business models and adapt experiences to gain leverage.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to define and employ quantitative/statistical assessment approaches.

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet. Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision. Work will require significant computer and telephone work.

This position is based in Pittsburgh but will require approximately 20% travel domestically and internationally.
