Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join a leading preclinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) in Rockville, MD, specializing in providing comprehensive research and development support to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The Sr. Research Associate should have expertise in flow cytometry and in vivo sample processing. Responsibilities for the Senior Research Associate include: Design, optimize, and execute flow cytometry experiments using various panel designs and staining protocols. Perform sample processing, including isolation and characterization of immune cells from peripheral blood, tissues, and other relevant sources. Develop and validate flow cytometry assays for immune cell phenotyping, functional analysis, and cytokine profiling. Analyze and interpret flow cytometry data, using appropriate software and statistical methods. Contribute to the development and implementation of new methodologies and technologies to enhance the research capabilities of the organization. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including scientists, project managers, and laboratory technicians, to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, document experimental procedures, and prepare technical reports. Supervise Research Associate and Senior Research Associate I level positions, training new and existing staff in laboratory techniques as needed. Qualifications for the Senior Research Associate include: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in flow cytometry, including panel design, cell staining, acquisition, and data analysis. Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Immunology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline) is required, Master's degree is preferred. Proven expertise in processing mammalian tissue/serum samples, including isolation and characterization of immune cells. Experience with flow cytometry analysis software (e.g., FlowJo, Diva) and data visualization tools.
