The YWCA is seeking an AP Specialist. The AP Specialist is responsible to safeguard the assets of the YWCA by ensuring invoices are processed accurately and timely in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes receipt and review of invoices from suppliers, verifying the good or service has been received, and entering the necessary data in to the accounting system for payment. This position monitors payment activity to ensure all bills are paid on time and in full, tracks payment deadlines, follows-up with suppliers to ensure payment has been received, and communicates throughout the organization to ensure all payments are authorized and processed properly.

Salary: $40,000 Annually

Primary Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

• Print checks present documentation to CFO for review, and ensure all checks are signed 
• Reconcile account transactions to the general ledger and verify transaction information for completeness and correctness.
• Daily, review and manage the internal AP email (finquest) account, and analyze and process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
• Protect organization assets by maintaining AP files and documentation thoroughly, accurately, and confidentially in accordance with company policy. 
• Post payroll journal entry into the accounting system and perform reconciliations related to accounts payable and the general ledger
• Resolve billing or balance discrepancies.
• Compare and reconcile system reports to invoice balances and verify entries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant professional experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an accounts payable specialist or similar.
• Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
• A valid driver’s license required. Must be able to be covered by the Agency's insurance policy.
• Non-profit experience with knowledge of non-profit cost principles preferred
• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and industry regulations. Preferred
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Preferred
• Knowledge of Financial Edge or demonstrated experience with other accounting systems a plus. Preferred
• Good time management and organizational, collaboration and communication skills. Preferred
• Keen attention to detail. Preferred
