Responsibilities

Program Overview

The Extended Foster Care Program provides support to young adults in maintaining eligibility for extended foster care services to assist in an overall successful transition into adulthood. Extended Foster Care services include case management, placement support, teaching life skills, and supporting clients in areas such as housing stability, employment, and education to achieve a successful transition into adulthood.

Position Overview

Extended Foster Care Success Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Extended Foster Care Success Coaches. The Extended Foster Care Success Supervisor provides oversight and direction to ensure that coaches are engaging youth in a coach-like way and providing strength-based case management and interventions as needed for their assigned youth and young adults preparing for and participating in the Extended Foster Care Program.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides clinical direction to coaches based on the treatment model which includes weekly management of the group supervision process by direct case review, oversees the treatment planning process, case management and case progress. Attends consultation and follows up on recommendations.
  • Actively participates in program meetings with other supervisors/managers.
  • Provides and coordinates quality training to coaches by having the ability to train on the program treatment model and on other suggested trainings. Provides on-the-job training to newly hired specialists. Provides overall staff development.
  • Reviews and approves clinical and organizational documentation in a timely manner (i.e. mileage, timecards etc.) completed by their direct reports for the purpose of quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Assists in the hiring process of new specialists as needed.
  • Provides support to counselor/specialists to help manage coach duties and responsibilities. Provides case coverage as needed.
  • Effectively engages in and builds customer relationships.
  • Conducts family assessments as needed.

Additional Information

  • Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served
  • Community Based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage
  • If clinical licensure hours are needed (LPC, LCSW,etc.), this position qualifies for gaining those as you work with young adults.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or education is required
  • At least two (2) years' experience in providing and completing trauma-informed assessments and interventions is required
  • At least two (2) years' experience serving transition age youth (ages 14-20) in systems of care (e.g., foster care, juvenile justice, runaway and homeless youth programs) is required
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and leading staff is preferred
  • One (1) year of experience utilizing tracking systems to input data to monitor quality assurance is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and develop staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance in the coverage amounts of 100/300/100.
  • Acceptable driving record - Three or fewer moving violations within the past 36 months
