Job title: Clinical Supervisor

As a Clinical Supervisor at the Center of Excellence, you'll work under the direction of the Clinical Director to provide counseling and intervention services to children and families. Your goal is to improve their behavioral health and functioning in various social environments, in line with the agency's mission and department goals. You must hold an active license with the State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker.

In this role you will:

  • Ensures services meet department and program requirements, delivered within timelines.
  • Provides regular, reflective supervision.
  • Facilitates individual treatment plans collaboratively with clients and families.
  • Delivers appropriate therapeutic interventions based on assessment and diagnosis.
  • Offers information and referrals to increase client access to community resources.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of treatment plans for quality assurance.
  • Transitions discharged clients and develops aftercare plans.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of services.
  • Builds positive relationships with community agencies.
  • Provides training on mental/behavioral health issues.
  • Develops policies and procedures with director and staff
  • Operates within budget guidelines.
  • Uses judgment in setting priorities
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to diversity.
  • Provides family-centered services.
  • Adheres to SWHD Core Values and Codes of Ethics.

What it takes:

  • Clinical master’s degree and must be independently licensed.
  • Current and active license with State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker, or by the AZ Board of Psychologist Examiners as a Psychologist.
  • Meet and maintain requirements to provide clinical supervision as detailed by Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, AZ Department of Health Services, and requirements of Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and contracted plans.
  • in good standing with AZBBHE and AZBBHE approved supervisor, and ITMHCA endorsed.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of child development.
  • Minimum of five (5) years mental health experience
    • Experience in the behavioral observation of and the development of young children and their families regarding disruptive behavioral problems, developmental concerns, and parent/child relationship difficulties.
    • Knowledge of the special needs of young children with disabilities and their families.
    • Experience with economically disadvantaged and/or culturally diverse populations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) oral and written fluency is not required but would be plus.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card preferred - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
