Volvo Service Manager
Young Truck Sales is currently seeking an experienced Service Manager to provide pivotal leadership while overseeing the comprehensive management of our service operations. This position involves strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimization to ensure the highest standards of maintenance, repair, and customer satisfaction. The Service Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, monitors performance metrics, and implements innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and the overall success of our business.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Shapes and cultivates the department’s work culture, setting the tone for values, behaviors, and collaborative norms that drive team cohesion and success.
  • Develop and execute an overall service strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Set clear performance targets, establish KPIs, continuously monitor P&L trends, and analyze data to drive improvements.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of managers, technicians, and support staff by providing coaching, training, and development.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance and skill set.
  • Monitor workflow, oversee scheduling and coordination or maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the sales, parts, marketing, and service teams to analyze trends in understanding customer needs and expectations, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Maintain strict adherence and ensure compliance for industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure consistent and reliable outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine service processes to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
  • Develop and manage the service budget, monitor expenses, and make data-driven decisions to control costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Consider quality, cost, and reliability of vendors.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency optimization and cost savings without compromising the quality or repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain business-to-business partnerships and interactions with OEM representatives.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with customers.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on service operations, performance metrics, and initiatives to senior management.
  • Foster open communication across departments to ensure alignment and shared goals.
  • Develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years proven Service Manager experience.
  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Computer and basic math knowledge.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task, adapt, and implement proactive decisions in a competitive, performance-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Requires 25% of time traveling to prospective/current customers.
