Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team. As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Your expertise in training development, report writing, root cause analysis, and knowledge of OSHA regulations will be crucial in promoting a culture of safety within our organization.
Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and workers compensation laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters
- Safety manager oversees daily safety operations around the shop and assists the supervisors in their effort to maintain the safety of their employees with information or training tools and maintain OSHA 300 logs.
- Safety manager is responsible for reporting injuries to workman’s comp. insurance and coordinating all follow-up visits/paperwork for the employee’s file.
- Safety manager is responsible for training and instruction of newly-hired employees, in conjunction with the HR department.
- Responsible for safety award purchases (as instructed by the operations manager), maintaining safety footwear reimbursement paperwork and prescription safety eyewear reimbursement.
- MSHA training – safety manager trains individuals who may need to work at mine sites and is responsible for filling out quarterly mine reports to MSHA.
- DEQ reports – safety manager maintains and assists in the collection of required data for maintaining our permits with DEQ.
- Crane inspection coordinator – safety manager will be one of the contacts for bi-annual crane inspections, coordinating when inspections are due and helping maintain repairs that are needed for the shops.
- Fire extinguisher/fire sprinkler coordinator – safety manager is present when fire extinguisher inspections are needed for all facilities and vehicles, as well as annual fire sprinkler inspections for shops.
- Safety manager will act as insurance coordinator on annual walk-through inspections with workman’s comp. insurance.
- Safety manager is responsible for writing inspection reports and maintaining required documents for jobs.
- Safety manager is responsible for dimensional checks of products that are produced in the shops, paint inspections and blasting profile checks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers compensation laws
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
