Wyffels Hybrids invites you join our family as the Construction & Service Manager to coordinate and oversee construction, service, and maintenance on all owned or leased property, equipment, and vehicles at the Ames, IA Production Plant. This position will be responsible for supervising all service personnel including Service Technicians, Automation Technicians, and seasonal help. This position is responsible for coordinating all construction and maintenance related tasks and service performed by contractors.

Job Description Highlights

• Ensure safety training of all Service Technicians is up to date and practiced.
• Work with Safety Team to implement upgrades.
• Part of the design team for ongoing development of the Ames production site.
• Coordinate and supervise capital construction projects.
• Communicate with and oversee work of external contractors for construction, electrical equipment, HVAC and environmental control systems, plumbing systems.
• Fiscal responsibility – coding invoices, budgeting, obtaining quotes.
• Ensure inspections of machinery, vehicles and property are being completed and documented.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance on machines and vehicles in accordance with routine service schedules.
• Prepare maintenance records and other job-related documentation.
• Oversee the maintenance of grounds: landscaping, buildings, snow removal, etc.
• Complete requisitions for, and maintain inventory of, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Availability in peak demand seasons is required.
• Coach/train/develop employees and conduct annual performance reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Commercial construction or construction management experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a commercial construction or maintenance-related job.
• PMP certification helpful but not required.
• Satisfactory driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Knowledge of commercial construction and project management.
• Knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry, painting, refurbishing, plumbing, electricity, appliances and HVAC in both theory and practical application.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and related documents.
• Ability to work independently or in a team situation.
• Communication and interpersonal skillset.
• Customer service mindset.

• Safe working practices and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
• NFPA 70e training.
