This Scandinavian country is a longstanding partner of the United States and a leader in areas as diverse as international peace and reconciliation, gender equality, energy production, fisheries, and fish farming, shipping, and climate technology.
Established in 1906, the Consulate General in New York is the largest and oldest Norwegian Consulate General in the U.S. The Consular district includes 25 states on the East Coast and the Midwest. The Consulate General is currently looking for an Administrative/Project Officer.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Consulate General’s administrative team providing services to both the Consulate General and the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations. Our new colleague will assist the Business Promotion and Culture/Arts Teams in a variety of administrative tasks. Furthermore, the successful candidate will work closely with our accountant by preparing and processing payments and scanning completed transactions for registration in our accounting system. In addition, our new colleague will work on a variety of administrative tasks such as assisting in the archive as well as receptionist duty as needed.

Conditions of employment: We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days of annual vacation and partial coverage of health insurance. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, or a holder of a residence and work permit in the United States. This is a local hire contract. The Consulate General cannot sponsor a visa for this position.
