The Banquet Captain is responsible for ensuring an exceptional member and guest experience in the club for all events. This is a highly visible, hands-on position that involves being the key liaison to the event planner/host throughout the event as well as continuous training and supervision of service staff. The Banquet Captain works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Catering Director, Assistant General Manager, and Culinary Team.
Requirements
Expected Hours of Work: Flexible scheduling - Daytime, evening, and weekend hours. This is a year-round position.
Required Education and Experience
- Experience in the Food & Beverage and/or Hospitality Industries.
- Experience in supervising banquet functions.
- Must have an exceptional eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct a team of staff in a pro-active and positive manner.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar environment preferred.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- TIPS certification preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct banquet/event staff.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings for each event with service staff.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base hourly earnings and annual performance bonus.
