Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our WI DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORIES facility.

FTE: 1.0

*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Casual*

*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*

Shift: 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm; weekend & holiday rotations required)

Summary:

Performs waived, moderate complexity, and high complexity testing on patient specimens. Correlates and interprets data utilizing critical thinking skills and knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments.
Involved in teaching and training students, new employees, and residents/medical students. Effectively performs problem resolution, equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, and test result data entry. Successfully and timely completes all required competency assessments.

Requirements:

Medical Lab Scientist

1. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science (formerly Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology), or

2. CLIA approved Bachelor's degree (such as Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry - other advanced science degrees may also be acceptable) with a minimum of one year direct clinical laboratory experience in the specific discipline of employment.

3. Must apply for ASCP or AMT certification within one year from date of hire or date of promotion to a certification eligible position, and must pass certification exam within 18 months of hire/promotion date.

Medical Lab Technician

1. Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (formerly Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology).

2. Must apply for ASCP or AMT certification within one year from date of hire or date of promotion to a certification eligible position, and must pass certification exam within 18 months of hire/promotion date.
