Wilson Creek Winery is a family-owned winery in the heart of Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country known for its quality wines and warm hospitality. The winery features a welcoming tasting room, full-service restaurant with vineyard view dining and expansive patio, creek side picnic area, indoor and outdoor conference and event spaces, romantic wedding venue and exclusive retreat accommodations.

Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards is currently looking for a part-time/temporary Accounts Payable Administrator in Temecula, CA.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Line Cook accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. 

This is a full-time, on-site role in Temecula, California.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, etc.
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
  • Effectively manages orders as they come in to ensure that all orders are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. 
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating.
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Assures food preparation and food storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen. This includes cleaning all work stations and taking care of leftovers.
  • Adheres to all food-related safety practices set forth by Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards, Inc., while also following all county, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. 
  • Perform other duties as requested.

What It Takes To Succeed:

  • Must be willing to obtain a Riverside County Food Handler’s Certificate within one week of hire.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience cooking in a restaurant.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
  • Possess strong knife skills and be able to operate basic kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow cooking directions and recipes.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking and self-motivation.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use both hands to prepare food in the kitchen. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is on occasion required to stand and walk on stairs, grass, and the entire property of the winery. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in typical conditions of a restaurant kitchen with equip such as walk in refrigeration units, commercial ovens, stove tops and grills. Prep stations to include working with knives and other possibly dangerous kitchen utensils and appliances. Noise level is usually moderate. Employees may encounter wet floors and extreme temperatures.
