Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. As a Collection Agent, you will be responsible for contacting individuals and businesses to collect outstanding debts. This role requires strong communication skills, financial knowledge, and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Duties:
- Contact individuals and businesses to collect outstanding debts
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements with debtors
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
- Utilize accounting software to track and update account information
- Analyze accounts to determine appropriate collection strategies
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues
- Follow all legal and regulatory requirements related to debt collection
- Collaborate with team members to achieve collection goals
Experience:
- Previous experience in collections or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing, financial concepts, and accounting software is a plus
- Knowledge of debits, credits, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to analyze account information and make informed decisions
- Experience in telemarketing or sales is beneficial
