Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including interviewing and onboarding team members; administering pay, benefits, and leave; enforcing company policies and practices and employee relations. Please note this position is for 2nd shift which is M-F, 10am-7pm EST.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day HR functions which would include: employee relations, policy adherence, recognition and rewards, training and development.
  • Works closely with our recruiting team to assist with interviews and onboarding of new team members
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Main contact for any HR related vendors (i.e. staffing agencies)
  • Will be our OSHA contact for any updates and compliance purposes
  • Responsible for Worker Comp administration (i.e. inputting claims, follow up and communication with employees)
  • Provides management coaching to build leadership capabilities to address and resolve employee issues
  • Reviews and tracks attendance points and issue disciplinary action as needed
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required

Requirements & Qualifications - 

  • BA/BS in Human Resources and/or equivalent years of experience
  • 3 years HR Generalist experience with proven knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and talent management systems
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • Not required to have pets, but highly recommended! 
  • Bilingual in Spanish
