Job Description

Westgate Resorts is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Human Resources to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture, driving employee engagement, and supporting the growth and success of our company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Leadership advisement partner for Executives, providing strategic HR guidance and support.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to HR offices at each of our properties across the United States, ensuring alignment with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Act as the Corporate Liaison for all day-to-day operations with business partners (Payroll, Accounting, Benefits, Risk Management, Talent Acquisition, etc.), fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to mitigate HR-related risks and ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support the needs of the organization and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Negotiate and oversee the implementation of vendor agreements related to HR services and systems.
  • Analyze, maintain, and communicate records required by law or local governing bodies, ensuring compliance with regulations and organizational standards.
  • Direct the development and execution of comprehensive Team Member strategies, including Compliance, HR Operations, Team Member Relations, Mitigation, and Leave Administration.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing departments to align HR initiatives with business goals and objectives.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction and retention, including the development and implementation of recognition programs and wellness initiatives.
  • Represent the HR function in executive meetings, presentations, and other forums to provide updates, insights, and recommendations on HR-related matters.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes in HR and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning within the HR team and across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of progressive HR experience in a multi-state environment, managing a geographically dispersed population, with a focus on the hospitality/service industry.
  • Previous timeshare industry experience and familiarity with union environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, business partners, and HR teams across multiple locations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources.
  • SHRM certification preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Proven leadership ability, with a track record of effectively leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong background in all areas of HR management, including employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and HR compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a VP-level role or equivalent, demonstrating strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to drive HR initiatives that support business objectives and contribute to overall organizational success.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization of HR processes and programs.
