Job Description

As a Tour Guide Driver, you will :

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, drive, job devotion, and personal ambition.
  • Have a theatrical performance background or be willing to perform dialogue and memorize scripts & facts.
  • Safely transport guests in passenger bus (special license required)
  • Be willing to work any day of the week, including holidays.
  • Plan, prepare, participate, arrange & conduct adult and children’s excursions while maintaining brand standards.
  • Prepare, participate, arrange, and conduct special events.
  • Work with the Excursion Manager on day-to-day excursion-related tasks.
  • Assist with Presenting to the Manager or Director ideas and budgets for excursions & special event activities.
  • Assist the Excursion Manager with maintaining contact with vendors, local entertainment establishments, and suppliers of activities-related businesses.
  • Fill out daily log, including tallies of owner / guest participation.
  • Handle money transactions and accounting procedures.
  • Sign owners and guests up for excursions and activities.
  • Use of computer as needed.
  • Enforce safety rules and procedures with resort owners and guests.
  • Perform other tasks related to the Recreation and Adventure Dept., including clerical / administrative duties, budgeting, and working with leadership on industry trends for excursions and special events.
  • Promote our brand and services to owners and guests through engaging conversations and informative materials.
  • Distribute marketing materials and collect feedback from guests.
  • Keep all work and guest areas neat and clean.
  • Maintain inventory of excursion or event items as needed.
  • Assess progress, implementation, and program effectiveness.
  • Meet Excursion Booking Goals that pricing is built on for each excursion.
  • Be able to work in the Florida climate, including rain, wind, extreme heat, and cold for extended periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience :

  • Experienced operator with a CDL class A or B with passenger endorsement
  • Westgate Resorts is a Smoke and Tobacco-Free workplace. Except where prohibited by law, applicants who smoke or use tobacco products will not be considered for positions at Westgate.
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CDL driver's license with passenger endorsement

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must have one year experience in driving the class of vehicle operated and must meet all state and local licensing requirements.

Must maintain satisfactory driving records and must take a mandatory defensive driving safety class. (Refer to Policy #, Small Vehicle Fleet Policy).
