SUMMARY
The Tour Guide's responsibilities include driving and or accompanying our customers throughout the day, familiarizing customers with the locality by vehicle or foot, and ensuring that the group always remains safe. You should be an excellent storyteller with a knack for customer service. An outstanding Tour Guide will perform minor alterations when needed to ensure smooth operation and completion of all activities included in the day’s itinerary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare/Collect all necessary paperwork and supplies for the following day's excursion.
- Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times.
- Distribute materials and guidance to the group at the beginning of the tour, which includes itineraries and brochures.
- Adhere to any mandated company health screening protocols for all persons traveling on a tour.
- Outline the tour and timeline before beginning.
- Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner.
- Answer any questions that the guests have.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of our tours, venues, company, and related topics.
- Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic always.
- Escort guests through the tour venues and participate where necessary.
- Describe points of interest around the areas and venues visited to the group and answer any questions, which requires learning a comprehensive history of each location.
- Monitor the behavior of the group, especially when young children are in it, and ensure everyone remains in compliance with the rules.
- Operate a fifteen-passenger vehicle in a safe manner.
- Cleaning and disinfecting of tour vehicle interior post-tour.
- Customer service and office-based duties may be required if not assigned to a tour.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds. Seeing up close, frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; extended periods of time walking or standing outdoors. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Work performed indoors is in a professional office setting and in some locations with a wide variety of people in different functions, personalities, and abilities. Work performed outdoors may be in many different conditions include adverse conditions and inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions.
Exposure to sharp objects and possible exposure to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead, and vibrations is possible. ONC strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. The use of personal protective equipment, dependent on the task, may be required.
