What you'll do:

The position of Compliance Officer will execute independent regulatory compliance testing as assigned, from planning to reporting on regulatory compliance activities of first line business units.

What we are looking for:

Responsibilities:

  • With limited supervision, conduct detailed analyses / testing of the first line business units' processes against applicable compliance requirements. This includes planning the review, performing outcome based testing, evaluating internal processes for adequacy, and documenting work performed substantiating conclusions reached.
  • Evaluating policies / procedures to ensure they are in line with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Through execution of analysis / testing, identifing opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of first line business units' regulatory compliance processes, and issuing written report of results to first line management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. B.S or BA is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with federal and state banking regulations and laws related to lending, such as Regulation B - ECOA, Flood, Regulation G - SAFE Act, Community Reinvestment Act; and / or deposit operations, such as Regulation E - EFTA, NACHA, Regulation I - Interchange Fees; Trust Company laws and regulations is a plus.
  • 3-5 years' experience at a large bank in analysis / testing of regulatory compliance requirements, internal audit, or other relevant experience within a Corporate Compliance department.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance or audit practices and methodologies, including risk and control concepts.
  • Strong verbal, written and analytical skills particularly regarding assessing the root cause of identified issues related to the probability and impact of regulatory control deficiencies.
  • Organize and manage time appropriately based on established timelines to meet department objectives.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and Word.
