Position Overview:

Position Overview: Join us at West Cancer Center as a Lab Assistant, facilitating preparatory stages of lab tests, managing specimen handling, processing, and utilizing Laboratory Information System. Conducts select tests within CLIA'88 guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs pre analytical and post analytical portions of laboratory tests within scope of practice under Tennessee Medical Laboratory Act.
• Effectively collects blood via venipuncture or implanted port access and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Assist with bone marrow collection and/or accessioning.
• Assist with other fluid, tissue collections and/or accessioning.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma and four years of laboratory experience required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to LIS, EMR and Microsoft functions.
• Strong attention to detail.
