About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Director in Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V) as part of Corporate Risk. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies.

The Business Execution Director will serve as the Independent Testing & Validation Head of Data Strategy. This experienced data leader will be responsible for the daily execution and overall management of IT&V’s data needs, strategy, and optimization. The overall remit includes data that IT&V creates, data IT&V consumes, and the associated tools, infrastructure, and governance. This position will report to the IT&V Strategy, Planning and Governance (SPG) Leader and be responsible for a team of data professionals. The right candidate has deep expertise in the data management and governance domain, and associated regulations, policies, and industry best practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a high performing team covering centralized data and infrastructure management ensuring solutions are designed, integrated, and controlled to improve effectiveness, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate.
  • Manage and develop multiple business functional areas with focus on implementing and delivering long-term strategies, policies, and process advancements for cross-functional stakeholders, and internal and external partners. 
  • Interpret and develop a range of policies and procedures for long-range and fundamental retooling of perspective, approach, culture, quality, relationships, operations, and capabilities.
  • Be responsible for partnering with technology on infrastructure, build, integration, and software deployment process.
  • Be in charge of the creation and management of program-wide analytics, data strategy and governance functions.
  • Collaborate directly with Executive Management and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead in vendor selection to ensure system compatibility with internal architecture and technology.
  • Manage, maintain, and improve technical integrations between systems to facilitate analytical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within existing processes and automate to drive programmatic efficiencies.
  • Removing barriers to delivering internal and external customer value, service, and support.
  • Provide advice and approval on evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of information systems and architecture to ensure appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems and guard against overengineering.
  • Understand technology opportunities/risks associated with the implementation of the IT strategy.
  • Advise Executive Leadership on strategic system conversions/integrations supporting goals and objectives.
  • Ensure key areas of technology risk including security, stability, and scalability are addressed in products and capabilities.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources. 
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 8 years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 4 years of management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 years of Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, and experience with relevant frameworks and libraries.
  • 5 years of experience in understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship.
  • 3 years of management and strategic planning experience in technology, agile practices, and/or systems architecture design.
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with IT teams, understanding technical requirements, and translating business needs into actionable IT strategies including acting as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and ensuring the reliability and accuracy of systems and platforms.
  • Proficiency in implementing automation solutions to optimize workflows, increase productivity, and reduce manual intervention in processes.
  • Extensive experience in data management practices, including data integration, data quality assurance, data governance, and reporting.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with integrating various platforms and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead effectively in a matrixed organization, developing partnerships with many functional areas, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, identify business challenges, and proactively develop innovative solutions to address them. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, collaborate across departments, and build consensus among stakeholders. 
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies, industry trends, and business requirements, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Lead Business Execution team for assigned initiatives ensuring solutions are designed, integrated, and controlled to improve effectiveness, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate.

Job Expectations:
