The Assistant Design Manager (ADM):

  • Manages and is responsible for the ongoing analysis of design process requirements through coordinating design milestones into the project schedule. The ADM then ensures milestones are met by continuously validating the progress with the design teams and project needs.
  • Monitors schedule impacts and illustrates constraints to design partners such as: constructability comments, stakeholder comments, and construction procurement conflicts.
  • Develops and implements QA/QC reviews for design milestones between client representatives, stakeholders, design teams, design assist/build subcontractors, and Webcor. Verifies QA/QC process is integrated into project schedule at regular intervals.
  • Leads and facilitates resolving RFIs, design scope questions, and design issues with project partners. Assists with design triage process to resolve issues prior to implementing RFIs.
  • Facilitates re-occurring coordination meetings with design partners and stakeholders to continuously monitor design scope progress.

Requirements:

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
  • Minimum four years of relevant Architecture or Construction experience to include two years as a Project Engineer on Design Build/Design Assist projects or Designer (as applicable) in related field and capacity on a Design Build project.
  • LEED AP and Associate DBIA preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all design phases, including Basis of Design and Project Manual development.
  • Working knowledge of Prime Contract and contract types: includes lump sum, GMP, hard bid, negotiated, design-build, etc.
  • Desire to provide excellent client service.
  • Working knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and accurate and decisive cost reporting, billing and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of state and local building codes including accessibility.
  • High level of design competence.
  • Programming and space planning skills.
  • Familiarity of all aspects of building to include site work, structure, finishes, envelope, MEPS.
  • Advance computer skills with the ability to use MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint); Knowledge of Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with database information flow/costing software.

Physical Requirements:

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk, generally up to 7 hours per day and occasionally standing and walking. The repetitive motion using hands with constant keyboarding and physical use of vision to read computer monitors and paper documents. Regularly required to use hands to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine). Occasionally required to stoop, kneel and lift up to 15 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate to loud.
