As the Marketing Engagement Specialist, you will serve as the email marketing lead for various brands, keeping users of our media brands engaged and coming back for more! You will manage email marketing and customer retention efforts across Weather Group digital products including The Weather Channel, Local Now, The Weather Channel streaming TV app, and more. This team member manages email campaigns, mobile push notifications, and in-app messaging giving our users more reasons to use our products. In addition they are responsible for driving a test and learn approach to maximize customer retention. This individual is the subject matter expert on engagement and retention tactics and ensures we are optimizing our third party tools and vendor relationships.
The Customer Engagement Specialist works closely with the product teams to identify engagement opportunities directly within the products and will align efforts with the Director, Marketing, Content Experience, Programming, and Social Media teams to develop a marketing ecosystem that yields high value customers.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Exhibit discipline in creating and implementing email marketing and retention strategies across Weather Group’s digital portfolio
Partner effectively with product, creative, research/insights, social media and content teams to develop winning retention strategies that overdeliver against KPIs, etc.
Create automated email and mobile push notification programs to deliver promotional messages to users.
Report on overall performance to evaluate campaign effectiveness and recommend adjustments
Work with third party vendors and internal product team to ensure we are getting the most out of our tools and constantly seeking opportunities to innovate
Seek out and interpret user feedback through a variety of resources to guide product development and innovation.
III.Education, Experience, Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or equivalent field or equivalent work experience
3-5 years experience in driving retention for digital products
Demonstrated experience building customer journeys via third party mobile push notification tools and ESPs (Active Campaign, Mail Chimp, Hubspot, etc)
Demonstrated experience in using data to inform marketing decisions
Demonstrated experience in developing unique, value-building, marketing programs

You understand how to use data to develop insights and turn those insights into action. You are knowledgeable about the streaming TV space and mobile app and stay up to date on industry news. You take a customer-first approach to drive business goals and remain focused and disciplined in a fast-paced, always-changing environment.
