Warren Whitney is Hiring a Project Manager Near Richmond, VA

Are you passionate about project management? Are you motivated by the opportunity to be an important part of land development projects? Are you looking for career growth? Would you like to be a part of a highly regarded, multi-state building company? If so, this may be the position for you.

Our client is a well-respected home-building business headquartered in Richmond, VA, with a track record of successful projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region. We are searching for a seasoned Project Manager who will be responsible for conducting important parts of a home-building cycle, including initial land development research. The ideal candidate will possess experience in project management, coupled with a deep understanding of business principles and strategies. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our projects. If you are serious about building a career, you will have that opportunity, including training as needed to develop skills needed in the home-building sector. You do not need previous home-building experience.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Ten years of business/project management experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities

This position requires the following:

  • Project Planning and Strategy: Develop comprehensive project plans related to land development.
  • Research: Conduct research, such as available property, zoning requirements, building codes, and access to utilities.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and maintain clear communication with county offices and external vendors.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges. Monitor project progress closely, anticipate deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly track project metrics and provide accurate and timely reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement and Best Practices: Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological innovations in the industry.

Qualified Candidates

We understand that each candidate brings a unique set of skills. The following outline provides an overview of the types of characteristics that fit this position.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business/project management with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget.
  • The ability to use past experiences to figure out how to get new tasks done well.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of key business concepts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Attention to details.
  • A temperament that finds satisfaction in completing a job well.

Finalists will be asked to complete an assessment as well as give authorization for background and reference checks. This is an in-person position centrally located in Richmond, VA.

Minimum starting salary is $65,000 to $75,000 based on experience. Benefits include health insurance (90% covered by employer) and a 401(k), with optional employee-paid dental and vision insurance.
