Host, Hostess / Server Assistant

Your role as a Front of House Specialist at Walnut Grill is extremely important to our success. You must be efficient to successfully complete your tasks. Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner. Seat guests and manages Open Table. Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow. Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.

• Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guests' expectations
• Providing friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well taken care of and builds their intent to return
• Assists in tasks to ensure a clean, sanitized, and safe restaurant
• Basic housekeeping skills including wiping down counters, dusting, windows, etc.
• Follow all company policies & procedures

• Minimum of one-year restaurant guest service or related experience is preferred.
• Quickly complete opening and closing duties each shift ensuring you and your peers are set for success
• Manage running side work efficiently
• Experience using OpenTable or a similar reservation seating system is a plus but not required
• This position requires full mobility and the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds. 

The Walnut Grill concept began in 1999 when four friends joined together with a common goal: to develop a full-service restaurant with a local feel, inviting to our guests, and serving them with outstanding food and beverage in Pittsburgh, PA.
