Harbor Village Health & Rehabilitation, located in New London CT, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team!

At Harbor Village, our residents are provided with a full range of skilled nursing and rehabilitative services to treat and support their needs in a safe and compassionate environment that fosters independence and dignity. To meet the needs of our community, our center features a rich spectrum of care that includes but not limited to Post-Acute Rehabilitation, Wound Care Management, Skilled Nursing, and Enhanced Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to handle tools and equipment, make proper calculations for repairs orreports.
• Completes work orders asassigned.
• Completes preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned. Keeps accurate records.
•  Assists in the testing of facility systems, including fire alarms, smoke detectors, exitdoor. Alarms, emergency and exit lighting, nurse call system and emergency generator.
• Replaces light bulbs asneeded.
•  Prepares surfaces for painting. Fills nail holes, cracks and joints with putty, plaster or otherfiller.
• Applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, enamels or lacquer to redecorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimming and fixtures of thefacility.
• Repairs partitions, doors, windows, floor, furniture and building framework, asassigned.
• Assists with plumbing repair, replacement and assembly, asassigned.
• Installs floor file, baseboard, wall covering and ceiling tiles, asassigned.
•  Maintains facility grounds, including grass cutting, yard cleaning, shrubbery trimming, raking, planting and weeding. Cleans parking lots anddriveways.
•  Removes snow from sidewalks and driveways and spreads sand, salt or ashes to preventslipping.
•  Stores supplies and tools in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderlycondition.
• Assists in upkeep of laundry and dietary equipment, such as cleaning dryer and exhaust fans.
• Assists with fire drills as requested by the maintenancesupervisor.
•  Assists with safety program to provide a safe working environment and preventinjuries.
