Overview

The Staff Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions accurately as directed by VPNE’s Finance Department. The person in this role will perform routine daily revenue and reporting audits on operations.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM

Location: (Hybrid) 350 Lincoln St Hingham, MA 02043

Pay: 75-80k annually 

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly client Profit & Loss (P&L) statements
• Assists with accounts payable as needed
• Assists with accounts receivable as needed
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Prepares and reviews monthly allocations
• Analyzes accounts, transactions and procedures
• Prepares journal entries and maintain files and records supporting General Ledger transactions.
• Assist Controller with balance sheets reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of all audits
• Generate monthly invoices and process credit card payments as needed
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications

Language Skills: Proficient in English both verbally and written

Experience:

• Property Management Experience is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamic Great Plains is a plus
• 1 - 2 years accounting experience 

Requirements:

• Must be proficient with MS Office suite – Intermediate in Microsoft Excel
• Familiar with Great Plains is a plus
• Must have basic understanding of debits and credits and integrated financial statements.
• Must have detail-oriented focus, and be eager to learn.
• The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines a must as well the ability to multi-task
• Must be articulate, organized and possess excellent communication skills and strong work ethic, good planning and prioritization skills.
