Vogel is currently seeking a passionate Director of Family Support to lead our family programs. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our family support programs, providing strategic leadership and supervision to our clinical family support specialists. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role with compensation ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
What we do
Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate the clinical family support specialists team, ensuring effective social work leadership within the department.
  • Ensure quality and implementation of family case management services for enrolled families and those in our Connections program.
  • Collaborate closely with Early Childhood, Mental Health, and the Parent Opportunity Center departments.
  • Manage case management assignments for new family enrollments, ensuring timely completion of family meetings.
  • Facilitate participation of all families in on-site programming and services.
  • Collect and report data for strategic outcomes and required departmental reports.
  • Coordinate professional development training for teachers and staff in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Assist in developing trauma-informed care training and presentation plans.
  • Accountable for budget planning, financial policy compliance, and financial oversight.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with affiliate agencies and community partners.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Senior Management team and collaborate with all departments.
  • Represent the organization in the community as requested.
  • Oversee quality assurance reviews of the family support department.
  • Maintain and update departmental Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Expand social work internship opportunities within the department.
  • Collaborate on innovative programming and case management services across Vogel campus locations if necessary.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, LCSW or LCSW-S preferred, with at least five years of program management and staff supervision experience, including three years in child and family programs, preferably with homeless families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, professionalism, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to strategically plan, implement, and lead innovative programming for homeless children and families.
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and hands-on leadership.
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, and goal-oriented, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Demonstrates alignment with Vogel’s mission and vision.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed.
