Job Description
The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing support and assistance to residents in a residential facility. The Resident Assistant will work closely with residents to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being. The Resident Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized living environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member
- Provide emotional support to residents, and assist them in maintaining social connections with family and friends
- Assist with meal preparation and serving, and ensure that residents are receiving proper nutrition
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing
- Assist with medication management, and ensure that residents are taking their medications as prescribed
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
