What you’ll do

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations. This role will also be responsible for developing, leading, and managing all onboarding activities that support and accelerate new hire (internal and external) assimilation from the time of offer acceptance to the time at which the new hire is fully integrated.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts new-employee orientations; administers pre-employment paperwork; maintains background checks for all new employees
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed. Completes I-9 forms, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
  • Maintains and processes employment verifications in a timely manner
  • Submit, receive, and prioritize claims, questionnaires, and other unemployment data
  • Respond to unemployment claim and follow up with state agency with all pertinent details within the time frame allowed by the state
  • Assists department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees
  • Acts as a dependable, responsive point of contact for new hires while maintaining effective communications and follow-through
  • Assists in the exit interview process
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • Either Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources OR equivalent experience OR hybrid of both which equate to minimum years’ experience in HR

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree Strongly preferred
  • HRCI PHR Certification or SHMR CP Certification
  • Relevant professional experience, preferred experience within administration, customer service, and/or Human Resources handling various aspects of onboarding processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
